Happy New Years!

As the Holiday Season comes to an end, we wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  Thank you for your continued support and participation on our site. At the beginning of this year we set some resolutions for 2009 to improve both our site and our presence online. With new addtions like improved home search, Re-desgined site, Enhanced Blog, we are happy with the progress that has been made.

We are looking forward to 2010 and working with our visitors and clients in new and exciting ways!

New Wake County School Board Faces Tough Issues

wake_county_schools_400The Wake County School Board has been garnering a great deal of attention lately thanks to the new directions the newly elected board seems to be taking. In fact, there are two major issues that have become topics of major debate: doing away with the current busing routes in an effort to create "neighborhood" schools and getting rid of year-round schooling programs.

The proposal to move toward neighborhood schools has sparked a controversy primarily because many believe this step would lead to de-segregation of the schools, which would effectively be taking a step backwards in terms of improving race relations. Raleigh Passes New Laws

Relocating to Raleigh NC You may be surprised to learn that Raleigh legislators passed whopping 577 new laws this year, a number of these have gone inito effect December 1,2009. While some of the laws won't affect many of Raleigh's residents, several of them will have a direct impact on the majority of the area's residents. Here are a few of the laws that you should be aware of if you live in Raleigh or plan on visiting the area:

  • Automated cameras and videos may be used to prosecute drivers who pass a stopped school bus.
  • New penalties have been put into place for drivers who pass a stopped school bus and hit and kill someone.
  • Texting while driving is a misdemeanor that may also result in a $100 fine.
  • License plate frames cannot cover the registration sticker or the state…
